This series of collages are made from gouache and an antique book titled American Heritage. The book was a history textbook consisting of images and stories of European settlement and expansion into the west. The addition of the silhouetted trees, and tipped geometric collage pieces, adds to the feeling that our current outlook on the American landscape has become less optimistic
